I am an artist living in Medicine Hat, Alberta with my husband, three boys and a very grumpy cat. I spent most of my life working as a musician until Covid 19 caused me to pivot and I took up oil painting. Growing up in Saskatchewan and Alberta meant many long hours in the back seat of my parents car looking out the window at the changing skies. I’ve always wanted to capture the bruised black clouds bearing down on the acid yellow of the canola fields, or the kiss of the last golden sun rays on the hay bales beside the highway. Painting has been an expression of my love for the land I grew up in, and a way to escape the long winter months of white and brown and fill them up with colour.
